Comedy GIRL POWER Teen Camp

Comedy Girl and The Bad Dog Youth Academy are beyond excited to announce the first ever "Comedy GIRL POWER Teen Camp" - aka the most fun you can have in a week!!

Designed to empower young women in comedy and the arts, Comedy GIRL POWER Camp builds confidence, explores premises, gives young women voice to their ideas, fosters creativity and share stories in a positive, supportive and totally fun space.

Jess Beaulieu

Jess Beaulieu | Comedy Girl

Jess Beaulieu is a comedian, writer, feminist and you. She is you. She co-hosts a weekly comedy podcast called THE CRIMSON WAVE, which is all about the glory of periods and a weekly stand-up show called CRIMSON WAVE COMEDY Sunday nights in Toronto. Jess has performed at the Boston Women in Comedy Festival, The Chicago Women's Funny Festival, Toronto's Feminist Art Conference, and in her own kitchen. This September THE CRIMSON WAVE will be performing in JFL42, Just for Laughs Torotno contingent as one of their 42 acts.

She's also a contributor to the online publications She Does The City, LoveTV ad 29 Secrets.

Lisa Amerongen

Lisa Amerongen (Bad Dog Theatre Co.) is an arts administrator, improviser, and educator.

Lisa began performing with the Canadian Improv Games, a national nonprofit organization and the largest improvised theatre tournament for high school students in Canada. As a player, Lisa was a national finalist and eventually joined the organization an adjudicator and judge at both the regional & national levels.

Lisa performed with Rapidfire Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta - the city's oldest and most acclaimed improvisational theatre company - for five years while earning her Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta before moving to Ontario.

Lisa is currently the General Manager of the Bad Dog Theatre Company, where she also performs and teaches improvised comedy on a regular basis. Previous roles with Bad Dog include Marketing Director and Youth Academy Coordinator. She is currently an instructor in the Bad Dog Youth Academy and can be found teaching improv to youth groups around the city. You can also catch her at Theatresports at Bad Dog on Saturday nights!
