Queer & Present Danger Workshop

From the creator of Queer and Present Danger (Canada's Touring LGBTQ Comedy Showcase) comes a workshop for queer comedians! This packed 3 hour workshop includes approaches on how to handle your anxiety on stage, how to stay relevant as a queer comedian and of course there will be time for writing and punching up those jokes. This workshop is broken up into 3 parts taught by Deepak Kashyap, Chanty Marostica and Andrew Johnston

DEEPAK KASHYAN is a south Asian (Indian) immigrant, Masters graduate student from the University of Bristol, emotional wellness counselor, and trained yoga and mindfulness coach. He trained at the Albert Ellis Institute in New York and attended the MBCT summer school program at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre at the University of Oxford, England. He conducted workshops in Dubai, the US, the UK, India and Canada. He is a published columnist in national newspapers and magazines, and writes about issues related to sex, mental health, relationships, and emotional disturbances.

CHANTY MAROSTICA is known for their unique brand of high energy physical comedy, and brings their jokes to life through a combination of storytelling, impressions and spot on timing. Marostica is an Award Winning Comic and the Founder and Producer of Canada's touring LGBTQ+ Comedy Showcase(s) "Queer and Present Danger"
