This Labour Day weekend, finish off the summer with some of hardest working and funniest comics in the country. This month's stellar line up includes the Winnipeg Comedy Festival's Shannon Laverty, Sirius XM's top comic in 2018 Chanty Marostica, Gemini winning writer Tim Steeves and acclaimed This Hour has 22 Minutes writer Nile Seguin. Join your host, Just for Laughs veteran Scott Faulconbridge for a superb night of stellar comedy.

Chanty Marostica

Chanty is the proud creator and producer of Canada's Touring LGBTQ Comedy Showcase(s) Queer and Present Danger, the first ever LGBTQ weekly mic QAPD Collective and Toronto's longest running LGBTQ+ Showcase Church Street Comedy.

They are known for their unique brand of high energy physical comedy, brings their jokes to life through a combination of storytelling, impressions, and spot on timing.

They were recently named Sirius XM's Top Comic 2018 and their debut album The Chanty Show was nominated in the "Album of the year" category for the 2019 Juno Awards.

Tim Steeves

Tim Steeves is an award-winning Canadian stand-up comedian and writer. He has written for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, The Rick Mercer Report and helped create the Canadian TV comedy special Talking to Americans.
Steeves has shared in wins for three Gemini Awards for "Best Writing in a Comedy Series" and has a Gemini nomination for "Best Performance in a Comedy Series". He also shared in wins for the Canadian Comedy Awards and the Writers Guild of Canada Awards.
Steeves was co-star of the CBC Television sketch show The Bette Show and host of Global's Game On.
Steeves has headlined internationally at clubs and theaters, including the Montreal International Comedy Festival, "Just for Laughs". He has also had his own Comedy Now! special.

Nile Seguin

Nile S?guin is one of Canada's funniest comedians.

With appearances on Comedy Network's critically acclaimed The Beaverton as well as People of Earth and The Expanse, Nile is also known as Alister on the City TV sitcom Second Jen.

Nile has performed at the Just for Laughs Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival and the Boston Comedy Festival. A three time Canadian Comedy Award nominee, he has also opened for Gregg Proops, James Adomian, Janeane Garofalo, Greg Behrendt, Aparna Nancherla and Matt Braunger.

Nile has written for Comedy Network's The Beaverton as well as This Hour Has 22 Minutes and the Gemini Award wining The Hour (where he was a regular on air contributor). He was also nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for his writing on CBC's Still Standing.

A perfect blend of serious and silly, Nile's comedy has been compared to a very strong and delicious Appletini or a slap from a velvet glove (if you're into that kind of thing).

Shannon Laverty

Since entering the Yuk Yuks Search for Canada's Funniest New Comic 25 years ago Laverty has been nominated 4 times for a Canadian comedy award. She has traveled from Vancouver to St. John's. In 2001 Shannon toured Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, South Africa. Some of her favorite shows have been at community fundraisers and Military posts. In October of 2006 she performed at a NATO base in Germany and hopes one day to travel the world performing for all of the military personnel.

Shannon?s recent TV and Radio credits include: Laugh out Loud (CBC RADIO), Winniped Comedy Fest. (CBC), Listed (Much More Music), Club 54 , "Fruitopia Comedy Funfest" at Paramount Canada's Wonderland (broadcast on CKVR-TV), The Movie Network's Pay-Per-View comedy special "Mondo Taboo 2", She's So Funny and Funny Girls on the Woman's Television Network, Comics (On CBC-appeared in 2 B roles) and Yuk Yuk's-The Radio Show on the Telemedia Network. Shannon has also made numerous appearances at the Molson Canadian Toronto Comedy Festival.

Laverty's on stage persona is proud to be provocative. Her Mae West come-hither attitude will draw you in and her flirtatious delivery has been embraced by both sexes.
