DESCRIPTION | |
Step beyond the surface and into fully realized, unforgettable characters. This class dives deep into the art of character creation for improv. Each week, will focus on a key element of dynamic character work—such as physicality, voice, status, point of view, emotional stakes, and relationships—and explore how to make bold, specific choices that sustain entire scenes. Through targeted exercises, scene work, and detailed feedback, you’ll learn how to avoid generic archetypes, commit to transformative choices, and build characters that drive the action rather than react to it. You’ll strengthen your ability to enter scenes with clarity, heighten through character, and maintain consistency without losing spontaneity. The final week brings it all together as you showcase a range of distinct, fully embodied characters in an optional performance that highlights your versatility and confidence. Suitable for intermediate improvisers ready to stretch beyond themselves and level up their character game. | |
