HOW DO I GET TO COMEDY BAR?
We have two locations:
945 Bloor St W MAP
TTC – Take the Bloor/Danforth Subway Line to Ossington Station and exit to Delaware Ave. We are directly across the street, on the South side of Bloor St. West.
2800 Danforthn Avenue MAP
TTC – Take the Bloor/Danforth Subway Line to Main Street station and walk east on Danforth approximately 5 minutes just past Dawes Road. The 20/23 bus also takes to you to Dawes Road.
CAN I POP IN FOR A DRINK?
Absolutely, we'd love to have you! Comedy Bar is a big space that consists of a bar and seating area, a large Mainstage Theatre and a more intimate Cabaret Theatre.
The bar opens every day at 6PM (And is a great place to spot your favourite comic). No cover, or ticket purchase is necessary to join us at the bar. The bar is open before shows, and after they let out. Guests are always welcome to stick around after the show.
HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT UPCOMING SHOWS?
All shows taking place at Comedy Bar are listed on our SHOWS tab. Click a show title to find more information, and scroll down to buy advance tickets (where available). You can also drop in and see what's on! With up to 7 shows a night, sometimes the best way to catch a gem is by showing up and taking a risk!
HOW DO I PURCHASE TICKETS FOR A SHOW?
Advance tickets can be purchased for most shows via the SHOWS tab on our website. There we accept Visa/Mastercard. If a show does not have advanced online sales or you'd like to purchase tickets closer to the show start time, you can visit our Box Office on the day of the show. The Box Office opens daily at 6PM.
I BOUGHT MY TICKETS IN ADVANCE. WHAT DOES GENERAL SEATING MEAN FOR ME?
Both of Comedy Bar’s theatres offer General Seating. This means having a reserved ticket does not guarantee latecomers a seat. We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your show to pick up your tickets, grab a drink and, occasionally, line up to be seated.
THE SHOW I WANT IS SOLD OUT, DO YOU HOLD TICKETS AT THE DOOR?
No, unfortunately if a show is sold out online, it is totally sold out.
If you email boxoffice@comedybar.ca with your name, the show you'd like to see, and how many people are in your party we can add you to a wait list in case we get tickets returned to us.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
We appreciate that sometimes things don't go to plan! We offer a flexible refund policy, up to 6 hours before showtime.
After 6 hours, we cannot offer refunds or credit.
This is to protect the livelihoods of the producers and comedians who keep our venues running.
If you wish to request a refund during hours in which the box office is closed, please send an email or leave a voicemail to provide a timestamp.
Certain events may be excluded from this policy; in which case all sales are final.

IS COMEDY BAR LGTBQ FRIENDLY?
Absolutely.
I'M UNDER 19. CAN I STILL COME TO A SHOW?
Comedy Bar welcomes anyone aged 14+, although we ask those under 19 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As the majority of the shows at Comedy Bar are independently produced, we cannot guarantee the content of any show will be appropriate for all ages.
You may be asked to present government issued ID.
IS COMEDY BAR WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
The entrance to Comedy Bar Bloor has 16 steps down to the entrance, so it is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. However, once inside, both theatres, bar area and washrooms are located on a single level.
Comedy Bar Danforth is fully accesible.
I SEE YOU OFFER SKETCH, IMPROV, ALTERNATIVE AND STAND UP SHOWS. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Comedy Bar is Toronto's independent comedy hub. It's a place where all kinds of comedy takes place, from alternative to mainstream. We always recommend taking a chance on a show you've never heard of; taking a risk is the best way to find the hidden gems.
Here's a quick cheat sheet for some of the terms you will find on our show calendar:
Improv : Comedy made up on the spot. Sometimes in the form of long stories (or 'narratives') and sometimes in the form of short punchy word games.
Sketch : Comedy that is written, rehearsed and performed by a group of people. A sketch show is usually a collection of short, independent scenes full of quirky characters.
Stand Up : Jokes that are written, rehearsed and performed by one person, alone on stage. Stand Up shows may be programmed around one accomplished headliner, or may be programmed according to a theme.
