DESCRIPTION

This class is inspired by the style and teachings of improvisational theatre pioneer Keith Johnstone. It focuses on short form narrative structure while also exploring the elements of performance that make an improviser likeable onstage. This weekly class will cover: Character objectives, status, dramatic action, emotional reactions, short form games, and grounded acting. Students will learn to embrace failure, be obvious, actively listen onstage, connect with individuals in the audience, connect with fellow performers, and access their inner sense of play and charm.
