The Pretty Flower / Spokane (sometimes referred to as the “Family Guy” format) is a character-driven longform built around intimacy, restraint, and emotional accumulation. Using monologues, subtle relationships, and shared emotional space, the format explores interior lives and unspoken histories, allowing meaning to emerge through resonance rather than plot.
In this workshop, we’ll focus on grounded monologues, clear character choices, and discovering connections through listening instead of forcing narrative. Through exercises, side coaching, and full-format runs, you’ll practice patience, vulnerability, and letting themes and relationships develop naturally.
Ideal for intermediate to advanced improvisers looking to deepen character work, emotional honesty, and ensemble storytelling in a quiet, nuanced longform structure.
