The Writer's Room with Rebecca Kohler

Designed for aspiring comedy writers, this course acts as a mock sitcom writer’s room in which you’ve recently been staffed (congratulations!). Before you show up for your first day, you'll have read a provided pilot script and bible. Based on those materials, you’ll come to the room prepared with story ideas, thoughts on theme and character development, and suggestions for where the season arc might go.

Led by the “Showrunner”, over two days, the group will break the second episode of the sitcom and loosely map out the first season. As you participate, you’ll receive real-time feedback from the instructor that will have you coming away from this workshop with a strong understanding of room etiquette, what makes a good in-room pitch, and a firm grasp on where your strengths lie.
