DESCRIPTION

This course dives deep into the best practices of hosting and playing short form musical improv comedy as well as advanced improvised song types and structures! 

With 7 in-studio classes and 2 noted performances, students will gain an expert knowledge of how to host, call and play over 20 of the most common short form musical improv games, as well as receive intro scripts, suggestion lists and resources they'll use for years to come!

All graduates of Pro Musical Improv will be invited to perform in an extended run of Comedy Bar's Big, Shiny, Made Up Tunes! Ticket sales from Comedy Bar's Big, Shiny, Made Up Tunes will be a 50/50 split with performers.

PREREQUISITES

This class is by submission only. Applicants must be a graduate of an improv program or have 3+ years of industry experience to be eligible.  

HOW TO SUBMIT

Email a headshot and previous musical theatre, musical improv and/or improv experience to submissions@comedybar.ca using the subject line MUSICAL IMPROV for consideration by Monday, July 14th.

Successful applicants will be contacted and enrolled by Friday, July 18th.
