Lies, Damned Lies, And Statistics

A UK-style panel show showcasing some of Toronto’s best comedy talent, inspired by Would I Lie To You and Mock The Week.

They may be funny, but who’s a good liar? Comedians are abnormal, but how would they score in a psychopath test? And who is incapable of having a non-weird first date? We’ll find out with a variety of games played by our comedy ensemble.

The show will be edited and distributed on YouTube, so let’s make some magic happen!

$15 online, $20 at the door

 

Hosting is Matthew Ardill

Matthew Ardill is a successful podcaster who hosts Detecting The Marvelous, Order Up! and Comedy Album Book Club. He’s opened for performers like Judah Friedlander and coordinated interviews with luminaries including Jackie Kashian, Matteo Lane and Patton Oswalt.

Team 1:

Tracy Hamilton

Tracy Hamilton is a stand up comedian based in Toronto. Her conversational style and cheerful sarcasm will make you feel as comfortable as she feels in her many cardigans. She has performed in SF Sketchfest, All Jane Comedy Festival, Motor City Comedy Festival, and filmed a televised gala for The Winnipeg Comedy Festival. She has also been featured on The Debaters and Laugh Out Loud on CBC Radio, has been published on CBC Comedy, and has opened for headlining acts such as Josh Gondelman, and Chris Gethard, among others. Her dog is also very cute.

Ryan Beverage

Ryan Beverage is just here because he’s British and rarely offers anything of value.

Sarah Ashby

What do you get when you put Regina George’s mean spirit into Garth from Wayne’s World’s body? Why you get Sarah Ashby! This Roast Battle Champion has been performing all around Southern Ontario and has appeared in multiple festivals including JFL 42, TIFF, Toronto Comicon and FanExpo. Check out their album “Ew, What Is This?” available on all platforms!

Andrew Lizotte

Andrew Lizotte is a veteran of the  Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and ODD Block festival. He has also been featured on CBC Radio's Laugh Out Loud and shot online sketch content for CBC Comedy. Andrew worked as a dramaturg for The Manitoba Association of Playwrights. His play “Revenge Of The Meek'' was a finalist for the Harry Rintoul Award at the 2015 Winnipeg Fringe Festival. His play “Hack” was featured at the 2016 Carol Shields Festival. His comedy show Stupid Fancy, has been nominated for two independent comedy awards.

 

ACCESSIBILITY
Comedy Bar is a basement venue with 16 steps down to the entrance. Washrooms are located on the main floor.
