Zul Gulamhusein is a Toronto-based stand-up comedian whose “DON’T LIE YOU WERE THINKING IT TOO” tour sold out major venues across Canada. He is back with his second standup special entitled "NARGIS' SON" (an ode to his first audience member and fan, his mom) and will pick up right where he left off in his first special! Known for his hilarious takes on the immigrant upbringing, getting older, and the petty joys of wishing minor inconvenience on people, he delivers the kind of humor that feels uncomfortably relatable. Beyond the non-stop laughs, donations to non-profits is a running theme including Aga Khan Foundation Canada and the Aga Khan Development Network, proving comedy can hit hard and do good.
In his second stand-up special, Zul dives into the chaos of growing up in an immigrant household where love was shown through leftovers, and disappointment was an Olympic sport. From navigating cultural quirks to coming to terms with getting older (and crankier), Zul finds the funny in life’s everyday frustrations—like people who walk too slow, or Wi-Fi that works everywhere except when you need it most. With sharp wit and storytelling charm, “Nargis’ Son” is a laugh-out-loud journey through family, identity, and the art of wishing minor inconveniences on people—just enough to make the world a little more satisfying.
