Martha Chaves is a prominent LGBTQ+ Latinx- Canadian artist renowned as an award-winning comedian, actor, activist, and playwright. Her influence spans the comedy circuits of North and Latin America. She has left her mark on prestigious Canadian festivals including Just for Laughs, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, The Comedy Halifax, and the LGBTQ+ celebration, We are Funny That Way. Martha is a familiar face as the host of the Calgary Folk Music Festival and has taken the reins at the CGLCC Black and White Gala for two consecutive years. Her distinctive voice resonates through the airwaves via appearances on CBC Radio's Laugh out Loud, The Debaters, and the panel show Because News. Notable television appearances encompass renowned stages like Just for Laughs and Winnipeg Comedy Festival Galas. Her impact is also evident through two national comedy specials: "Comics!" aired on CBC and "Something About Martha" on the Comedy Network.
