DESCRIPTION

In this 6 week course, you'll delve deep into the foundations of sketch comedy writing for both the stage and screen!

Learn common scene types and 5-point sketch structure, how to generate and clearly establish a strong premise, experience writing in an ensemble and learn the value of rewrites and punch-ups. Explore techniques for creating unique and memorable characters and worthwhile callbacks and payoffs. Start to develop a portfolio of sketches you can take anywhere!

The final class of Core Sketch Writing will culminate in a live table read with comedy performers so you can feel your work brought to life!
