DAVID SHORE

Instructor: David Shore

Classes: The Troupe: Harold

David Shore was a player/coach at the IO West (Los Angeles) for four years. He played on two (Harold) House Teams and was a member of the Living Room show, The Recliners as well as producing the alumni show, The Deconstruction Derby. It’s at the IO West, that David first started performing The One-Person Harold. In it, he would perform an entire Harold, playing every single character in every scene and group game. A Toronto native, David did a run of the One-Person Harold in Toronto and that lead to him joining the Second City Mainstage. Once back in Toronto, David taught the first Harold classes at both the Second City Training Center, and The Bad Dog Theatre and directed The Bad Dog’s first Harold Night show. After leaving the Second City Mainstage, he started producing and performing the still running, Monkey Toast. David lived in London, UK from 2010-2017. While there he ran his own, successful improv school, which focused on his unique style of organic Chicago Style Long-Form.

Here’s what some former students of David’s have to say about taking classes with him:

LAUREN ASH

“When I first discovered improv, I took every class I could. But the one that always stands out in my memory was David Shore's class. This class was much sought after and always sold out. And once I took it, I could see why. David has a passion for improv that is infectious. His ability to offer notes and suggestions to up your improv game is second to none. His enthusiasm, experience and thoughtful direction make his class one you don't want to miss. I would highly recommend anyone either starting out in improv or looking for a fresh perspective, to work with David.”

BRETT GOLDSTEIN

“I took David Shore's improv class all the way to Level Five. I learnt skills from David that I apply to all my work and all of my life.  I am now one big YES AND, and that is why I have so many adventures and have fathered over sixty-eight children. But seriously, his training has given me so much to take forward and I am grateful to him.  I just wish he would pitch in occasionally in all these paternity suits.”
